Five years of Mitan marina: a synonym for quality, safety, offer and cleanliness
NOVI VINODOLSKI At the peak of the season, the Mitan marina looks better than ever. Already at first glance from the road from above, it is easy to conclude that there are more vessels present in the marina than last years. What certainly satisfies the management of Mitan marina is the constant average length of the vessels of 12 meters and the improved average age of the vessels compared to previous periods. Of the total of 162 berths available, approximately half refer to annual contracts in the sea, while the remaining berths are reserved for vessels from the dry marina that are in the sea in the summer and in the hall in the winter. As before, it is mainly about owner’s boats, because there are only a few charter boats in the Mitan marina, more precisely two sailboats and three catamarans.
The mentioned catamarans arrived this summer and are part of the fleet of a world-famous company that has its catamaran bases mainly in exotic locations such as the British Virgin Islands, the Bahamas, Fiji… It is a luxury charter that offers its guests, mostly Americans, all inclusive accommodation. According to past experience, the water area surrounding the Mitan marina has something to offer even more demanding guests, both through natural beauty and gastronomy.
Muroskva Bay is known from history as a location with numerous natural sources of fresh water, where residents once washed their clothes. Port users are increasingly realizing the advantages of such water for their vessels, given that the presence of fresh water greatly affects the preservation of vessels and requires less washing of the underwater part. In the Mitan marina, sailors also have everything they need, first of all, their own service for boats, which has been numerically strengthened this year and consists of six employees who promptly fulfill all client requests. There are also accommodation facilities, Nautic shop and Tifon gas station. Guests of the marina can try local specialties in the Marengo restaurant, as well as use the services of Oris catering. Physiotherapist Mate Komadina, who also provides services within the marina, will take care of complete rest and relaxation for boaters. During July, Mitan marina organized two events for its sailors, which were open to all people looking for good fun and music. The last concert was on the occasion of Mitan marina’s fifth birthday.
In five years of existence, all the set goals have been met. First of all, it is a high level of service quality, safety, cleanliness and content for sailors and guests of the marina. A high level of quality standards is the only guarantee for success in the tourism industry, which is always cited as one of the most resistant to crises. But nothing comes without the constant engagement of all tourism workers, Mitan marina knows that.
As in previous years, this year was also marked by investments, so the construction of the second hall in the dry marina, which is ready to receive new vessels in the fall, was completed. The first hall has an area of 3,120 square meters, and the new one is even bigger – 3,350 square meters. A total of 6,500 square meters under a safe roof and surveillance. The new accommodation capacities in the heated hall enabled the Mitan marina to become the largest dry marina on the Adriatic in terms of closed space for vessels.
